EMERGE 2026

Electromagnetic Environment Research for Generation-after-next Electromagnetic Activities

Tuesday 3rd & Wednesday 4th November 2026,
Loughborough University, UK

We invite you to attend EMERGE 2026, a new conference organised by the EME Hub dedicated to Electromagnetic Environment Research for Generation-after-next Electromagnetic Activities.

EMERGE 2026 will showcase cutting-edge research shaping the future of electromagnetic activities and strengthen collaboration between academia, industry, government and the UK defence community.

Alongside technical presentations and poster sessions, the conference will offer a series of expert-led, bite-sized lectures covering key topics in electromagnetic activities. The education sessions will allow delegates at all career stages to choose the mix of technical and educational content that best meets their interests and development needs.

The two-day conference is open to delegates from academia, industry, the Civil Service and MOD. Attendance is free of charge, but advance registration is essential.

If you are interested in attending this event please complete the EOI Form below by Friday 25th September 2026.

Please Note: Your expression of interest does not constitute as admittance to the event. Your Expression of Interest application will be reviewed and a member of the EME Hub Team will contact you with further instructions.

Technical Talks and Posters

We invite you to submit an abstract of new research to be considered for oral or poster presentation.  In keeping with the generation-after-next theme of the conference, only new research will be considered for oral presentations.  Posters from industry are also welcome provided they are not purely product promotional material.

Topics of interest include:

  • Quantum Technologies for Defence Electromagnetics
  • Metamaterials, Reconfigurable Devices and Smart RF Structures
  • Terahertz,  Photonics and RF-Photonics for Defence Applications
