Future Electromagnetic Warfare Engineer
Dates: 21st to 25th July 2025 at Loughborough University
We’re looking for early-career scientists and engineers to participate in the next NATO STO Summer School on the “Future Electromagnetic Warfare Engineer”, to be held from 21-25 July 2025 in Loughborough, UK.
Organized by the Sensing Technology (SET) Panel, this one-week program features expert-led tutorials on key aspects of electromagnetic warfare, with the aim of building knowledge and fostering collaboration among participants.
The Summer School is open to:
- Early-career graduates in a relevant field (e.g., physics, electrical engineering); and
- Individuals enrolled in a relevant PhD programme or working (for less than 5 years) in RF electromagnetic warfare or adjacent fields (e.g., radar, communications, sensing) at a research institution or industrial company.
Application requirements:
- A completed career biography form summarizing qualifications, experience and objectives for attending the Summer School
- A letter of support from the supervisor/employer confirming financial coverage for travel and accommodation
While there is no registration fee, participants are responsible for all travel and subsistence costs. Priority will be given to young, early-career scientists and engineers with relevant experience. A selection will be made to ensure a diverse balance across institutions, nationalities and other criteria.
Pre-event reading materials will be provided to ensure a common knowledge base.
